Australian group Ridley opens $50 million fish feed facility

The new Tasmania-based facility will target the region's farmed salmon sector.

Australian company Ridley unveiled a new aquaculture feed facility, a $50 million (€44.8 million) investment, at Westbury, Tasmania, reported The Examiner.

The facility will produce roughly 50,000 metric tons of feed pellets for producers in Tasmania, mainland Australia and New Zealand once fully operational. The project received state funding worth $2 million (€1.8 million) and is expected to increase the state economy by $21 million (€18.8 million) annually.
