Ocean Choice International builds new factory fishing vessel

The vessel is being built in Turkey and will be delivered next year.

Canada’s Ocean Choice International (OCI) is building a new factory fishing vessel which will create approximately 70 new, full-time, your-round positions, as well as number of other indirect jobs, the company said.

The new Arctic class vessel will provide the safest available marine working environment while minimizing the environmental footprint.

It will be equipped with advance technology to maximize yield, minimize processing times and deliver high quality products.

The vessel was designed by Skipsteknisk in Norway, and is being built by Tersan in Turkey, it will be delivered in December 2019.

In addition, the vessel factory is being designed and built in Newfoundland & Labrador creating additional employment opportunities in the province.
