Russian Fishery, Agama form new JV to build second whitefish plant

Russian Fishery will hold a majority stake of 50.01% of the new plant.

Russian Fishery Company (RFC) and frozen food distributor Agama Group signed an agreement to build a cod and haddock processing plant in Murmansk.

The construction of the plant, which will be known as Russian Haddock, will begin in late August, and the commissioning is scheduled for 2020.

RFC will have a majority stake of 50.01 percent in the joint venture.

The plant is the second factory the companies are building together. The first one, known as Russian Cod, is currently under construction and nearing completion in Murmansk.

The companies already jointly produce pollock products under the Agama-Nordeco brand.
